Giveaway Privacy Policy

Hey, thanks for checking out my giveaway privacy notice.  I have directed you here because the way I collect, store and use your data during a giveaway is slightly different.  I can still say that I will never sell your data, however, data is passed on in some circumstances.  The full details are outlined below.

What personal data is collected when you enter a giveaway?

Often, to enter the giveaway, you will be asked to provide your name and email address to register your entry.  This helps me to confirm your entry and let you know if you are the lucky winner.

If you choose to log in using a Social Media Account (such as Facebook, Instagram, Twitter or Pinterest), I do not receive any identifiable details about you except your name and email address.  For further information on how Gleam.io manages your social media account information please refer to the Gleam.io Privacy Policy.

If you choose to utilise the “subscribe to newsletter” entry, by clicking the link provided you will be directed to a MailChimp Hosted Sign Up form.  To read more information about Mailchimp and how I handle newsletter data please refer back to the mailing list section in the main privacy policy.

How do I store the personal data?

Any personal data collected through the Gleam.io widget is never exported.  Once the giveaway has ended, the data will be deleted once the winner has received their prize.

The exception to this is if you chose to subscribe to the newsletter.

How do I use your personal data?

The information you share through the Gleam.io widget remains yours.  I do not use it in any other way than to manage the giveaway and select a winner.

In the case of selecting a winner, their information (name, address, email address, or postal address, whichever is appropriate) is passed on to the sponsor of the giveaway in order for the winner to receive the prize.  After which, the data is erased.

The exception to this is if you chose to subscribe to the newsletter.  Again, the way I use the information is outlined in my main privacy policy.

Access to the data I hold on you.

If you wish to see a record of the data I hold for you please email Beth on beth@bethinabox.com.
