Following Weight Watchers is mostly plain sailing, and I’m able to get through the day with some daily SmartPoints left over… but there are those days (possibly even weeks) when I gobble up one SmartPoint after another, until I’ve munched my way through the whole day’s quota by 11am and by 1pm I’ve devoured half of my weeklies. It’s like I turn into some SmartPoints monster who likes nothing more than to see a balance of zero left on the screen.
It gets me thinking though. Even though, those SP Monster days are few and far between… how can I ensure that they don’t throw me off course yet again. It’s this course of thought that gave me the idea to work out my list of WeightWatchers hacks. 5 simple hacks for those days where the SP Monster rears its ugly head.
Drink plenty of water
Water is your number one best friend… no calories = no points. Not only that but water helps the body in so many ways including balancing the body fluids, helping your kidneys and keeping your skin looking good. Don’t take my word on it though, head to any respected website on the internet and they will tell you the same thing.
‘Free’ foods are always there for you
Most vegetables and fruit as well as Chicken, Turkey and some fish have no points value. You can create a whole meal without using any SmartPoints at all. Chicken salad, tuna salad, chicken & veggies etc… Even chicken, cauliflower, broccoli, peas, carrots and potatoes is only 2 SP.
Need something warm? Any tea or coffee will do
As long as you don’t add milk to your coffee or tea, it’s a point free drink. My preference is a Pukka Herbal tea. They come in so many flavours and are really delicious.
Plan your meals in the morning
Keep in mind your ‘free’ foods and plan your breakfast, lunch and dinner. At least you know you will be able to eat properly AND munch through your points guilt free.
Don’t beat yourself up
Okay, so this one isn’t really a hack… It’s more of a piece of advice. If you do end up binging away all your dailies and scoffing your weeklies by noon… get back up, dust yourself down and try again. You can still eat any number of point free foods for the rest of the day and you don’t have to beat yourself up. There’s more to life than losing weight.
