Blog Tour Book Review – A Lover Too Many by Roy Lewis
16th September 2018
It’s my stop on the blog tour for Roy Lewis’ book A Lover Too Many.Roy is a well established author and his books are being republished by the brilliant Joffe Books.
About A Lover Too Many
Peter Marlin’s wife is found strangled and he becomes the prime suspect. She’d only just returned from an unexplained absence of several months. And during that time, Peter had found a new lover. Everything points to the husband but there’s no real proof.
Inspector John Crow is called in to help the local police. But his new colleagues aren’t keen on an outsider. And Crow must solve the case before anyone else dies.
This fast-paced mystery will have you gripped from start to finish. Set in England in the late 1960s, this is the first book to feature Inspector John Crow. More coming soon.
To be honest, I found A Lover Too Many a little hard going.I’m the type of reader that reads in between taking care of the kids or working but I found the chapters were taking me a good 30 minutes to read. I also always have to finish a chapter before putting my Kindle down.
Although, going back in time for a crime fiction series was pretty refreshing.A time without the technological advances with DNA, smart phones, and the internet. It was truly something different.
I had never heard of Roy Lewis before reading A Lover Too Many, and it was good to get into a different author. And one that is very different to my usual modern crime fiction.
Roy’s book, A Lover Too Many is available to purchase through Amazon below*.
