It’s yet another Monday… but this Monday feels different somehow. Maybe because it’s the calm after the storm. Literally.
How did you cope with The Beast from the East and Storm Emma? Did it affect you? We actually had snow for the first time in 5 years. Yes, that’s right. 5 WHOLE YEARS have passed since the last snow fell that we could actually play in. The downside this time was it was too bloody cold to play outside for long.
The snow meant that my grocery order for Saturday was cancelled and the next available slot I could get was for tomorrow. Luckily, I have always got stacks of food in the pantry and plenty of frozen stuff to fall back on should the need arise. Our biggest problems are generally milk and bread. We go through a loaf of bread and 6 pints of milk every day. I think that’s the price we pay for having 5 children. Haha!
I have still made my meal plan for the week though. It’s a little bit of a mixed bag and perhaps not entirely healthy but nevertheless…

I have a huge joint of pork in the fridge which will make the Pork Roast and Pulled Pork. I haven’t quite decided which flavours I’m going to add to the turkey mince to make the burgers yet but I’ll hopefully choose the right combination.
