It’s day 18 of #Blogtober17 and the prompt today is Relaxation. As a busy Mum of five with 3 under the age of 4, relaxing isn’t really something I have time to do. Unfortunately, though, as all Mum’s know, relaxation isn’t top of our priorities.
Recently, things happened that forced me to realise that it was high time I took some time for me. Just an hour. An hour to switch off and leave the stresses of being an adult behind. What could I do though? It had been so long since the last time I had ‘me time’, I had no idea. I did know that I didn’t want to go out for my time.
Right on cue, a lovely little package arrived with my post man. A package that hinted at being the answer to my problems. It contained 3 small bottles of Olverum Bath Oil.
When my husband came home from work I packed myself off upstairs and left him with the children without so much as uttering an explanation. He did figure it out though.
I had heard of Olverum Bath Oil in the past but, due to not being a huge fan of a bath, I never thought to actually try.
It’s a great little product that claims to relax, provide stress relief, sooth aches and pains AND makes skin lovely and soft. It contains 10 essential oils, none of them I’ve ever given much thought, except lavender. I like lavender. You can find out about the ingredients here.
How did it make me feel?
I added just a small amount (5ml is all that is required) into the running bath and gave it a swirl. It was a little odd jumping into a bath with no bubbles. I actually really enjoy bubbles. Nevertheless, I grabbed my iPad and settled down with a book.
I was only disturbed once (a true miracle in this house) and managed a full 30 minutes uninterrupted. The bath did need to top up the bath with more hot water though.
I exited the bathroom feeling younger than when I entered. It can’t be guaranteed whether this was down to Olverum Bath Oil or the fact that I’d had a quiet 30 minutes. I did feel relaxed, refreshed and calm.
If you fancy an Olverum bath you can purchase it from any of the stockists or click on the Amazon widget below. 🙂
Olverum Bath Oil is available in 3 amounts priced accordingly. The prices are:
- Travel Set (3x 15ml bottles), enough for 9 baths at £19.
- 125ml bottle, enough for 25 baths at £29.
- 250ml bottle, enough for 50 baths at £53.
Their main stockists are Liberty, Conran, Harvey Nichols and Fenwick. However, I’ve added a link to Amazon at the end of the post where you can purchase Olverum Bath Oil.
Olverum Bath Oil, on first impression, does seem a little expensive for such a small amount. However, each of the 3 bottles I received can provide 9 relaxing baths.
It isn’t something I would buy to use every day but as a way to recharge your batteries every so often it’s actually great value for money. I think I’ll definitely be making a habit out of relaxation with Olverum Bath Oil.
