Shopping has already arrived along with the ingredients for my entire meal plan this week. I also bought a Pork Shoulder because they are half price at the moment and will come in useful in the next few weeks.
The meals I planned last week were:
- Slow Cooked Really Easy Pasta Bake
- Slow Cooked Chicken Casserole served with Rice
- Slow Cooked Jacket Spuds with Cheese and Beans
- Hot Dogs
- Roast Dinner
We actually ate:
- Monday – Slow Cooked Really Easy Pasta Bake
- Tuesday – Cheesy Bacon and Chicken Stacks served with Mash
- Wednesday – Pizza
- Thursday – Slow Cooked Jacket Spuds with Cheese and Beans
- Friday – Hot Dogs
- Saturday – Takeaway
- Sunday – Beans on Toast
5 out of 7 isn’t bad, is it? We’re having the roast today.
What’s for dinner this week?
Beef Roast – Daddy is taking Boyo and Princess Pants for their swimming lessons so I get to stay at home and cook the roast.
Mummy FC – Boyo’s friend is coming for dinner tomorrow and, like Boyo, he dislikes vegetables. Mummy FC is basically a KFC cooked by Mummy!
Slow Cooked Sausage Casserole – I’m trying out a new variant of this. Maybe I’ll chuck in a pile of beans or some peppers… I’m up for experimenting one day this week.
Cheese & Potato Pie – I don’t know about you but I find Cheese & Potato Pie is a real tummy warmer. It’s cold outside, raining so what better way to warm yourself up than eat a stodgy meal like this.
Shepherd’s Pie – Another warming meal, that can be cooked in the slow cooker then transferred to the oven to finish off! It contains loads of vegetables and goodness. Not to mention, the children LOVE lamb!
Coq Au Vin and Rice – I’ll try a chicken casserolley type thing again shall I? I don’t seem to have much luck with them.
In order to cook any of this though, I really must remember to go to the farm shop first thing tomorrow morning. Today’s dinner is already prepared but I used the last of the parsnips/carrots/onions/potatoes etc. etc..
