We’re now a month into our weaning journey with Comma, and as exciting as it has been I’m ever so slightly missing the simple days of a milk-only diet. Comma, however, is flourishing. Every time he picks up a piece of food (cucumber, carrot stick, banana, bread stick, toast) his face lights up and he smiles at it.
This month we’ve been practicing the ‘sippy cup technique’ and portion management (most of it still ends up on the floor anyway) and OXOTot have come up trumps again with their brightly coloured baby, toddler and child friendly range!
- Sippy Cup with handles – Perfect to start off the transition from bottles. A leak-proof valve to prevent spills and controls the flow of Comma’s drink. It has handles enabling him to drink by himself.
- Sippy Cup without handles – Once Comma’s grasp is more developed we can remove the handles for him to hold the cup himself.
- Training Cup – When Comma is ready to start the transition from sippy cup to regular cup I can replace the sippy cup lid with the training cup lid. With a transparent insert that controls the flow of his drink, he can lift the cup to his mouth and drink by himself with few spillages.
- ‘Real’ Cup – As if the progression this far was not enough, I can even remove the insert which means the OXO Tot sippy cup also becomes a ‘real’ cup.
How much more do we need from a cup? Nothing to be fair!
OXO Tot Divided Plate
Just like an adult, babies need a specific amount of proteins, vegetables and carbohydrates and this is often difficult to control. The OXO Tot Divided Plate takes all the guesswork out of portion sizes, looks great and easily adapts from babies to toddlers (and even beyond)!
Like the entire OXO Tot range, the Divided Plate is modern and colourful and also incredibly practical.
Comma loves the plate and has now come to associate it with lunch time. Scrambled egg, cucumber, banana and breadsticks are favourites to eat from the plate. The plate is divided into size appropriate sections for each of the 3 important foods and even includes a center section for dipping sauces and condiments.
He has also recently learned that he can make objects fly… and he is certainly making the most of this new skill. He has certainly tested the ‘unbreakability’ of the OXO Tot Divided Plate. On this matter I am very pleased to say “It appears to be unbreakable!”
All you have to do is enter the Rafflecopter giveaway below and leave a blog post comment telling me what the center section of the plate is for.
